MICHAEL W. PETERKIN

Michael Peterkin is a distinguished commercial litigator who works primarily in the areas of construction, real estate and business litigation.  He also specializes in breach of contract disputes, commercial lease disputes, water law and homeowners association law.  Mr. Peterkin has 38 years’ experience as a trial and appellate attorney.  For over 26 years, he has been a member of Central Oregon Builders Association and COBA president in 2001.  Mr. Peterkin has participated as a guest speaker to attorneys, contractors, engineers, surveyors and real estate brokers.  He has written legal articles in his primary practice areas.  He is licensed to practice in the United States Supreme Court, Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, United States District Court and State of Oregon. 

Mr. Peterkin created new law on appeal regarding homeowners associations, real estate, mortgage brokering and evidence law.  His cases have been featured in the Wall Street Journal and the Oregonian.  Mr. Peterkin is a member of the Construction and Real Estate Law Section of the Oregon State Bar, director for the Construction Law Section and an editor of the Oregon State Bar 2019 revision of the Construction Law Legal Publication.  Mr. Peterkin is a 1982 graduate of Willamette University College of Law and a graduate of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy.
